How to pick a bentonite granule
Start with the job. Black ball is the standard agriculture grade and the grade fertilizer plants use as a carrier. Red ball is the iron-bearing option, and brown granules cover general soil and blend work. Plants that coat the granule with micronutrients or pesticides take double-roasted granules so the ball does not swell and break in the blender.
Size is the second question. Standard balls are 2–8 mm or 8–16 mesh. Chips are a different product: 10–20 mm or 16–35 mm natural pieces, used when you want slow breakdown rather than a round fertilizer ball.
