What Red Ball Granules Are

• Particle size 2–8 mm — a free-flowing, low-dust granule.
• Iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) 8–12% — the source of the red colour.
• pH 8.5–10.5, bulk density 950–1100 kg/m³.

The granular form means dust-free handling and easy hopper feeding, while the high swell index means strong drilling-mud performance once hydrated.

Why the Red Colour Matters

The red colour comes from natural iron oxide content, not a dye. For drilling, the iron oxide is incidental — what matters is the montmorillonite and swell index behind it. But the colour does carry two practical meanings: it identifies this specific high-swell grade at a glance, and in agricultural use the iron content adds micronutrient value.
