Introduction

Most bentonite granules are natural (non-calcined) or single-roasted. Double roasted bentonite granules go through a two-stage thermal process that changes their physical behaviour — making them harder, more moisture-resistant, and more dimensionally stable. What "Double Roasting" Means

Roasting (thermal treatment) drives moisture and some structural water out of the clay, hardening the granule. Double roasting applies this in two controlled stages rather than one, producing a granule with:

• Superior hardness and crush resistance (post double-roast).
• Excellent dimensional stability — the granule resists softening and swelling-driven breakdown when it contacts moisture.
• Low moisture content (< 5%) and a near-neutral pH.
• Enhanced, controlled-release absorption rather than rapid, uncontrolled swelling.
• Customisable particle size (standard 1–4 mm / 2–6 mm).

In short, two-stage roasting trades some of the raw clay's rapid swelling for durability, moisture resistance, and a controlled-release profile.
