Radhe Enterprise is a trusted bentonite supplier for African buyers, exporting premium bentonite granules, bentonite powder, dolomite, edible roasted clay, and bentonite cat litter from our manufacturing facility in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India. We serve importers and distributors across Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Uganda with competitive FOB/CIF pricing from Mundra and Kandla ports.
Africa's growing construction, agriculture, and mining sectors drive increasing demand for bentonite and related minerals. East African markets (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia) are accessible via Mombasa and Dar es Salaam ports with 12โ18 day ocean transit, while West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana) routes through Lagos and Tema with 18โ25 day transit. Southern Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia) accesses via Durban with 16โ22 day transit. Indian minerals offer significant landed-cost advantages over European or American alternatives while meeting the quality requirements for African applications.
Whether you need bentonite granules for agriculture and soil conditioning, bentonite powder for drilling and construction, dolomite for glass and ceramics, edible roasted clay (khadi mitti) for traditional consumption and medical applications, or bentonite cat litter for retail distribution โ Radhe Enterprise delivers export-grade quality with documentation aligned to African customs requirements.
Why Source Bentonite from India for Africa?
India is the world's second-largest bentonite producer, and Gujarat accounts for over 60% of India's bentonite output. Sourcing from a direct Indian manufacturer like Radhe Enterprise gives African buyers access to premium bentonite, dolomite, and clay products at significantly lower costs than domestic alternatives or re-exports from trading hubs. Our Bhavnagar factory location provides cost-effective port access for ocean freight optimization.
Indian bentonite โ particularly from the Bhavnagar-Kutch belt โ is prized for its high montmorillonite content, excellent swelling properties, and versatility across agriculture, industrial, and pet care applications. For African importers, buying directly from Radhe Enterprise eliminates intermediary margins and ensures specification control from mine to container. East African Agriculture & Soil Conditioning
East Africa โ particularly Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda โ has significant agricultural potential constrained by sandy, free-draining soils that lose water and nutrients rapidly. Bentonite granules applied at 500โ1,000 kg per acre improve water retention by 25โ40% and enhance nutrient-holding capacity. For Kenyan horticulture (Naivasha, Nakuru), Tanzanian coffee and tea plantations, and Ugandan banana and maize farms, Indian bentonite granules offer a cost-effective soil amendment solution at approximately $80โ120/MT FOB.
Edible roasted clay (Nakumatt and Butter Grey) is a significant import product for East African markets, where traditional clay eating (khadi mitti) is practiced by millions. Kenya is our largest African market for edible roasted clay, with regular container shipments for distributors serving Nairobi, Nakuru, and Kisumu. The product is also used in aquaculture for fish pond sealing and feed supplementation across the Rift Valley region.
West African Oil & Gas and Construction Markets
Nigeria and Ghana's oil and gas sectors consume bentonite for drilling mud formulations in onshore and offshore operations. Nigerian drilling contractors import significant volumes of bentonite powder (API-grade) for well construction. Indian calcium bentonite at $100โ150/MT CIF Lagos provides a cost-effective alternative to US-sourced bentonite ($200โ300/MT CIF) for non-critical drilling applications.
Construction across West Africa โ including road building, foundation piling, and waterproofing โ also drives bentonite demand. Our construction-grade bentonite powder is used for slurry trenching and diaphragm wall construction in major infrastructure projects across Lagos, Accra, and Abuja.

Which African ports do you ship to?
We ship to Mombasa (Kenya), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Durban (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria), Tema (Ghana), and other African ports based on buyer preference. Ocean transit from Mundra to Mombasa is 12โ18 days, to Durban 16โ22 days, to Lagos 18โ25 days. We quote FOB, CFR, and CIF for all African destinations.
Do you export edible roasted clay to Africa?
Yes. Edible roasted clay (Nakumatt and Butter Grey) is one of our most exported products to Africa, particularly to Kenya and East African markets. Regular container shipments of roasted clay go to Mombasa for distribution to edible clay distributors, pharmaceutical buyers, and aquaculture operators. This is NOT cat litter โ it is food-safe kiln-roasted clay for traditional eating, medical enterosorbent applications, fish pond management, and aquaculture feed. We clearly label and document it as edible/consumption-grade clay, not pet litter.
Can you supply bentonite for drilling operations in Nigeria?
Yes. We export drilling-grade bentonite powder (200 mesh, API-spec where required) to Nigerian oil and gas service companies. Our drilling bentonite is tested for viscosity, fluid loss, and sand content. We can supply FOB Mundra or CIF Lagos with full documentation including certificate of analysis, packing list, and certificate of origin.
What packing do you recommend for African shipments?
For African destinations, we recommend 25 kg or 50 kg PP bags with inner polyethylene liner for moisture protection during ocean transit and port dwell time. Palletized loading on fumigated wooden pallets with container desiccants is standard for all African shipments, particularly for East African routes where Mombasa's humidity requires extra moisture protection.
